It will be full speed ahead in both the cross-country tracks and the ski jumping hill at Lugnet this coming weekend.

And there’s plenty to do and experience for the audience as well:

– Buy your tickets in advance and come to Lugnet to join the ski festival, says Niclas Johansson, who is responsible for the side events during the competition days.

Already on Friday, the Continental Cup competitions in Nordic combined kick off at Lugnet. The Nordic combined athletes will continue competing on Saturday and Sunday. Over the weekend, the world stars of cross-country skiing will also put on their bibs again in the first competitions after the Olympics in Val di Fiemme. Saturday features a sprint, and Sunday is the skiathlon.

So intense days await in the tracks and on the hill, and there is plenty for the audience to experience as well.

– A new feature this year is that Flås will be on-site to warm up the crowd. It’s a perfect way to raise both the energy and the atmosphere ahead of the competitions. Between races, DJ Özzi will handle the music in the arena, and Dansa i Falun will perform. You’ll also have the chance to see the future ski stars compete in the fast-paced youth competition Stjärnjakten (Saturday at 11:30),” says Niclas Johansson.

What if I get hungry?

– There are plenty of options. Inside the arena, 13 food trucks are lined up, offering a wide variety from meals to candy. If you prefer to sit down at a table to eat, it’s just a two-minute walk to the sports hall where you can enjoy their great food.

What activities are there for children?

– Well, our official and very popular World Championship mascot Bubo has opened his tipi. There you can get a flag painted on your face and, of course, meet Bubo in person.

And what happens when the competitions are over?

– On Saturday at 4:00 p.m., After Ski opens inside Lugnet Sports Hall. Partypolarna and DJ Özzi will provide the entertainment. It’s going to be a lot of fun. A separate ticket is required for After Ski, and and it sold out, says Niclas Johansson, adding:

– It’s going to be really exciting days at Lugnet. Make sure to get a ticket before you come, and arrive early to experience all the possibilities Lugnet has to offer this weekend.

The festivities also extend to the Main Square in Falun, where the opening ceremony takes place on Friday at 18. Among others, Charlotte Kalla Jessie Diggins and representatives for the Swedish National Team will attend the opening ceremony.
